well it depends on what you consider installed.

"installed" means having run the installer.

    that's for noobs.

    It's the supported method.

Synchronet has always had an installer, even going back to the MS-DOS days.

yeah but you have a track record of having huge huge delays before releases. so we've been depending on the cvs and now git and your bbs to get files.

Updating an existing installation is different than never having installed in the first place.

Largely, sbbs installers do things that not many established sysops need.

You don't know what you're talking about.

it doesnt matter. you dont need to run a janky installer
to run synchronet. you just need the files and run it.

you forced us to do that for many many many years.

Updating an existing installation is different than never having
    installed in the first place.

eventually over time that becomes a very gray area. things change over the years. especially since i've ran synchronet since 2000.

You don't know what you're talking about.

whatever, just fix the bugs i reported. or dont. i got around the problem in
a few seconds anyways. even though i dont know anything.
Next time i won't say anything and you can keep the bugs.

I see you already have enough quiet people in your clique
because the 3.21 release had a ton of issues.

Love it. The MRO derp telling the developer how his software should be
    used. Typical blowhard BS.

Yup, things change. Non-idiots adapt to that and make changes and keep
    things cleaned up.

Please stick to that "next time" thing. EVERYBODY will be much happier
if you "don't say anything". You are correct though, where you said

that's false. i did a voting poll and everyone voted for me. they love me.
