Well... The prohobition on eating port (Or meat from animals with cloven hooves is shared between the Jewish and Muslim faiths (And a few Christian denominations).

Moses was given the directive of take 2 of every animal to ensure their survival (Not as sustinence). Animals / plants can still be useful even if you do not eat them.

    So no mystery or irony....

It is even less complicated than that.

Noah building his ark, and the flood, happened in Genesis. The time of Moses came several generations after the flood. The story of how God gave the dietary laws, including the prohibition of pork, to the Israelites via Moses first appears in Leviticus.

Having lived and died long before the time of Moses, Noah was never religiously prohibited from eating pork, or raising hogs, or from doing anything involving swine.

The time of Abraham and the subsequent eviction of his son Ishmael from what became Israel happened sometime in between the times of Noah and Moses. Ishmael and his mother, Hagar, would move south, into the Arabian Peninsula, and their decedents were known as the Ishmaelites. Mohammad's ancestry is traced back to Abraham via Ishmael and the Ishmaelites. As the followers of Islam believe that Moses was a true prophet, their prohibition on consuming pork also traces back to Moses receiving the dietary laws from God, and those laws would not have covered any prophets -- Noah, Abraham, others -- that came and passed before Moses.

TLDR - neither the Jewish nor Muslim prohibition on pork existed in the time of Noah.

    Mike
